Clip cards are one of my favorite learning activities. Keep reading to learn why kids and teachers love them. I also have a free set of ABC activity clip cards just for you when you sign up for the Early Learning Ideas newsletter.
Use for Learning Center or Busy Bag Activity:
Clip cards are fairly small and are easy to use. Once you print, laminate, and cut out a set, they can be used over and over again.
The cards can be used individually or sets can be bound together with a binder ring. They make an easy and engaging center for a classroom, can easily be placed in a bag for a take-home activity, or parents can use them for busy bag activities.
Engaging, Multi-sensory Activity:
Using clip cards is an engaging, multi-sensory activity that kids really enjoy. There is just something about a little clothespin clips :). Young kids can also get a little extra fine motor exercise with the little clips. With this set, kids can match the lowercase to the uppercase letters, finger trace the letters, and practice the letter sounds.
The activity is something that kids can do independently. If you would like to make the cards self-checking, you can simply add a small dot or sticker behind the correct answer so that kids can turn the card over to see if they selected the correct answer.
Learn Many Concepts:
From ABC’s, counting, rhyming, initial sounds, syllable segmenting to CVC words, almost any early childhood concept can be practiced using clip cards. If you sign up for the Early Learning Ideas newsletter, I will send you a set of ABC activity clip cards so that you can give them a try.
