10 of the Best Turkey Books for Kids
Are you looking for some fun Thanksgiving-themed books to share with your kids? Here is a list of some of my favorites – the best turkey books for kids. These fun books are a great way to supplement your Thanksgiving activities during storytime or in your class library.

Run Turkey Run
This book takes kids on a tour of the farm as the turkey tries to hide from the farmer. Kids enjoy the repetitive text in this fun book and will help the turkey by yelling “Run, Turkey, Run!”
10 Fat Turkeys
Gobble, gobble, wibble, wobble….. this is a rhyming number book with some fun, repetitive text.
Five Silly Turkeys
Here is another rhyming number book. This one is short and sweet…perfect for young kids with a limited attention span.
There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey
A Thanksgiving version of the Old Lady Books. That silly old lady….she’s always been quirky!
All About Turkeys
Don’t forget to add some non-fiction books into your turkey theme unit or lesson plans. This one provides plenty of facts about wild turkeys and the illustrations are GORGEOUS.

The townspeople hatch a plan to catch a Thanksgiving bird. The turkey is plump and perky, but very clever as well. I think that you will find this to be a fun story filled with LOTS of descriptive vocabulary and rhymes.
