13 Rainbow Crafts for Preschool Kids with Tearing Paper Printables
Paper tearing isn’t just fun—it’s an incredible way for preschoolers to strengthen their hands and fine motor skills. That’s why I created my paper tearing printables, and teachers always tell me how much their kids LOVE using them!
But do you wanna know the best part? These printables are incredibly versatile. While they’re designed for paper tearing, they can also be used in so many creative ways.

I’m going to show you 13 different rainbow crafts for preschool kids using the same printable. The rainbow printable is just one example—these same projects work beautifully with all the printables in my paper tearing bundle. Let’s take a look.

Paper Tearing Rainbow Craft
Paper tearing projects are fun and exciting for kids. Get out your scrap paper. There is something about ripping paper that is so satisfying. Add some pizzazz to this craft project by adding some textured paper or cool patterned scrapbook paper.

Cut and Paste Rainbow Craft
Do your kids need some practice with scissors? This is a great snipping activity for beginning cutters. Cut paper into thin strips so that kids can cut them into small pieces with one snip of their scissors.

Rainbow Coloring Page
The simple images of the paper-tearing printables make the best coloring pages for little learners. Get out your crayons, colored pencils, or markers for a quick and easy-to-prep activity.

Rainbow Watercolor Painting
Get out some paint, and your kids can practice controlling a paintbrush while filling in the simple images with color. Wanna get really creative? You can even make your own paintbrushes.

Get out the bingo daubers and your little learners can add dots of color to the page.

Dot Sticker Rainbow Craft
Speaking of dots…. dot sticker activities are a great way to build pincer grasp and eye-hand coordination….and are also a fun way to add color.

Yarn Collage Rainbow Craft
You can use many different materials like felt, foam, fabric, etc. collage. Here is an example of a yarn collage, and I love how it turned out. Encourage your kids to cut ribbons and yarn into 1-2 inch lengths. Then, they can glue the yarn to the printable page.

Stamping Rainbow Craft
I LOVE experimenting with art and craft materials. For this rainbow craft, we found many different tools to use for printing or stamping paint. We used a piece of mesh bag with a clothespin clip, a small block, a golf tee, a marker lid, and a coil of pipe cleaner held in a clothespin clip.
Be sure to watch the video at the top of this post to see all the tools.

Here are some additional materials you can use to stamp paint onto your printables:
- LEGO bricks
- pom-poms
- corks
- a ball of foil
- a toothbrush
- a piece of styrofoam
Block Printed Rainbow Craft
As I was experimenting with the printing tools above, I fell in love with the block printing. I often pick up little Jenga game sets at the dollar store when I see them. The blocks are really small and are perfect for making DIY stamps or for this rainbow printing project. Doesn’t it look great?

Q-tip Painted Rainbow Craft
Q-tip painting is a great pincer grasp activity. I like to use little plastic bottle caps for hold just a little bit of paint …perfect for q-tip painting.

Fingerprint Rainbow Craft
Sticking their little fingers in paint is a great sensory experience. Demonstrate how to apply paint to their pointer finger and apply a print to the rainbow page.

Additional Rainbow Craft Ideas
